When we say that a disease is contagious it means ’that it can spread from one person or organism to another by direct or indirect contact.’ Another contagion spread by close contact from one person to another is the spreading of a harmful idea or practice.
Our emotions, feelings and attitudes can also produce a contagious environment that is likely to spread and affect others. I sometimes wonder how effective we are at making Christianity contagious. Is there anything about our feelings and attitudes that are likely to affect and influence others toward wanting what we have? If we are negative and have a crummy attitude about almost everything (culture, church, politics, movies, economy, etc.) there will be little about us that will have positive contagions… but will easily produce other negative results.
To me the question is what do we want to pass on to others? If it is church, religion and such I don’t think it will be very contagious… at least I have not seen it to be. But if we project and present Jesus, there is a very good chance that we could become contagious.
