YOU SAW THEM MADE

I am still thinking about the ‘eyes of the heart’ from yesterday’s Journal entry. As I was sorting through this I remembered (actually I had to go find it) a quote from Augustine of Hippo (354-430) theologian and philosopher:
“As for ourselves, we see the things you have made because they are. But they are because you see them. We see outwardly that they are and inwardly that they are good. But you saw them made when you saw that it was right to make them.” (From ‘Confessions’)
We see with the eyes of our heart what the Father has already seen with the eyes of his heart. ‘But you saw them made when you saw that it was right to make them.’

Lord, make mud for eyes to see, faith for our hearts to see.
