WORRIED ABOUT BEING ANXIOUS
Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. (Online Dictionary)
I think it is the ‘uncertain outcome’ that causes most of my anxiety. I don’t mean the ultimate and final outcome of how things will end but the day-by-day issues. Eschatologically things seem rather clear and simple. However, what happens a week from Tuesday…. Who knows?
Someone once said I was angst… I have never liked the way this word sounds or is used… it sounds snooty… and sounds like you are talking through your nose or with our mouth full of oatmeal…just say anxious or worried.
Now I get worried about being anxious because the Lord has told us, “Don’t be anxious about anything” and yet it creeps up on me. And then someone comes along and says, “You just need more faith, brother” and then I really get worried because I instantly no longer want to be a brother or even a Christian.
Erik Jensen, ex-con and Hollywood film advisor…
“I don’t worry about anything. Worrying is like praying for things you don’t want.”
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is it’s own trouble.” Jesus
