WORKING HARD

I know this guy that works really hard. He is an assistant to a Yard Maintenance guy. He goes behind the main guy and cleans up the trimmings and pruning and what ever left by him. He also does some mowing and trimming. He works hard all day long. He has plenty of reasons to complain and bemoan his circumstance… but doesn’t.

He asked me one time, “You workin’ hard?”

I said, “Not too hard.”

He said “Then you must be takin’ it hard.”

I thought about this and I suppose I am taking it pretty hard. When one cannot do what one once could… they take it pretty hard. Learning that we are dispensable is a day of “takin’ it pretty hard.” And it happens right when we should be taking it easy.
