WHOM WE LOVE

When any society lives this way they are in their ‘Last Days.’ It all depends on whom we love…

Paul, an apostle, wrote to Timothy:

“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty:
For people will be lovers of self, 
lovers of money, 
proud, 
arrogant,
abusive,
disobedient to their parents,
ungrateful,
unholy,
heartless,
unappeasable,
slanderous,
without self-control,
brutal, 
not loving good, 
treacherous,
reckless,
swollen with conceit, 
lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
having the appearance of godliness,
but denying its power. 
Avoid such people” (2 Timothy 3:1-4)

Paul starts with “lovers of self” and ends with “rather than lovers of God.” What is described is The Last Days for any person, marriage, business, community or nation who lives with these attitudes and behaviors. And of course it describes the Last of the Last Days as well.

“And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
Jesus
