WHAT MONEY CANNOT BUY

Jacob Needleman writes, “Money has entered so much into human life now that if you ask, ‘What is it that money can buy and can’t it buy?’ you are asking a major philosophical, spiritual question. I answer it somewhat cryptically by saying that money can buy everything except meaning. And there are things money can’t buy that come from God, that come from the spirit. Money can’t bring you meaning, but it can bring you a lot of other things that are necessary to you.”

He continues, “A real spiritual master, now, and probably in all times, would work with people’s relationship with money. If you are going to show people themselves, which is one of the aims of a spiritual master, you have to work with them and their relationship with money.”

If money isn’t understood… few other things will be understood.
