WATERING FOR DEEP ROOTS
As it has always been and shall forever remain, the current generation must prepare the next generation for leadership and citizenship. I am truly concerned for the development of the next generation because after a few years on this road and a few miles down it as well, it seems natural and normal to want to pass along a few of the things one has learned to those who want to hear it.
It takes much time for the younger to be nurtured by the older. This is true in parenting, business, and all other apprentice situations. It is certainly true in being an apprentice to Jesus. He gave the first twelve disciples three years and turned them loose. Many of us have been at it much longer and still feel inadequate. We need to go for it! Then, help others go for it.
Preparing healthy plants takes lots of preparation with diligent watering for deep roots. I guess I am simply trying to say it takes time to produce a stronger next generation. Let’s water deeply and have faith for a great crop.
