TRUTH BY ACTIONS
It is easy to unite together in principle, but practice is the source of costly disunity and division. Jesus ran into the same exclusive thinking with his disciples. His disciples came to him one time and said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we commanded him to stop it, for he does not follow along with us.”
Jesus answered them, “Do not forbid such people; for whoever is not against you is for you (on your side).” In another account of this Jesus said, “Do not restrain or forbid him; for no one who does a miracle in my name will soon afterward be able to speak evil of me. For he who is not against us is for us.”
The results of truth are what substantiate truth. Truth is fruitful by action and not by protection. Truth needs no protection. As soon as it is protected it is sanctioned and controlled. The results of truth are its own sanction. There is no amount of dialogue or debate to change this opinion. Opinion changes when we have a demon cast out of us or when we cast one out of someone else. It is the fruit and not the truth alone that produces the reality. It is the act and the fact that gives equal access to truth. No one, including the original disciples of Jesus, has exclusive rights to such truth. Disciples now are no different.
“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” Jesus
