TRUE WEIGHT II
I recently went to the Doctor for my semi-annual check up and weigh in (See TRUE WEIGHT Sept 13, 2021 RMJ Archives). The Weigh In and Lab Reports can cause great anxiety. This time Delores the Medical Assistant told me we were also going to add a Memory Test to the Weigh In and Lab reports.
I was nervous but I said, “Sure, I’m OK with that.”
Delores the Medical Assistant said, “How much do you weigh?”
I gave her a number within 25-45 pounds of my weight that I thought was kinda close.
She said, “Step up on the scales.”
Up I went and the faulty scales had me at a much greater amount than I had reported.
She said, “That is the Mental Test. However many pounds you are off from your actual weight versus your stated weight is your Mental Test. We have a Mental/Weight Chart that registers from 0-50 pounds. However many pounds (points) you are off from your actual reported weight to your actual scale weight is the same number on the chart of your Mental Test. The test is from Low to High on the 0-50 Chart. It is simply indicating how well a person remembers.”
I told Delores, “My memory’s not as sharp as it used to be. And also, my memory’s not as sharp as it used to be.”
I got a 37 on the Mental Test. Hey, that’s better than last year when Ronald Reagan was President… or was that the year before. Whatever. I’m headed over to the other side of the Pond for Cuban Coffee, Danny’s Flan with Cappuccino Sauce and to read my Weight Watchers Newsletter.
