TRIPLE DIGITS

Triple Digits is a number, percentage, or group of numbers or percentages greater than 99 and less than 1,000.

What I do not understand is why and when it became the duty of the weather person on TV and radio to say triple digit instead of 100 or 104 or 109 or whatever the temperature was expected to be in forecast. Why not just say one hundred and three or whatever.

Now this is really not a very big or significant thing to a lot of people. But one of us has just stopped watching the weather in the warmer months for this transgression.

I better get back over on my side of the pond where I know what the weather is going to be because I have a Weather Rock.
