TRINITARIAN BEAUTY
I find myself many times almost clinging to strands of my experience from the past in trying to grasp some forms of worship. But past experiences will not work today for I see a ‘new day’ in worship. The comfort of the past and the familiar are easy, cozy, and should be, but with a new day must come a new way.
Worship is many things but it is always recognition of the powerful and loving Lord in His Trinitarian beauty. It is the glorious form of the Father, the glorious servant hood of the Son and glorious holiness of the Holy Spirit. This three-way thrust of God is waiting for the worshipper. On this new day I must break into this Threesome with my very person. The presence of God comes in an atmosphere of His own nature and characteristics, not from our desire, or supposed significance or posture in any way. It is not a matter of the Lord ‘being hard to find’ or ‘hard to get,’ it is a matter of us getting into the ‘zone of God,’ that is, His nature and ways and leaving ours behind. It is not to abandon our humanity, but in our humanity to seek His holiness. His zone is holy. Our zone is not holy until he comes.
“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.” Jesus
