TIES THAT BIND
Ties that bind are an expression used in several ways of communicating that the tie that binds (or the ties that bind) is the shared belief or other factor that links people together. It is often used to describe marriage (or other emotional relationships) and can be used to describe business, sports and other forms of binding in unity.
Jesus said, “What therefore God as joined together, let not man separate.” Ties that bind are the reasons and methods for staying joined together as God has joined together.
Ties that bind can be unbound and there is usually some pain and discomfort involved. I remember a line from a country song that said, “She untied the ties that bind.” It is rather easy to do and really tough to tie them back together again.
