THOSE WHO SEEK FIND
I recently reread ‘The Great Divorce’ by C.S. Lewis (1898-1963) and was taken by several of his comparisons and allegories. I also must admit that I rarely read this type of non-fiction even though it has great meaning. But as I read this very well known quote it struck me again:
“The Teacher explains our power to choose:
‘There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, in the end, “Thy will be done.” All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. To those who knock it is opened.’”
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Jesus
