THINKING IT OVER
We aren’t married because we have a marriage license.
We aren’t divorced because we don’t yet have divorce papers.
We aren’t ‘saved’ because we a have a church membership.
We aren’t ‘un-saved’ because we don’t have a church membership.
We aren’t clean just because we took a shower.
We aren’t unclean because we didn’t take a shower.
We aren’t wise because we went to school.
We aren’t unwise because we did not go to school.
We aren’t visionary because we have eyes.
We aren’t un-visionary if we don’t have eyes.
We aren’t with authority because someone said we have authority.
We aren’t without authority even if everyone said we have no authority.
We aren’t liars because we lied; we were liars before we lied.
We aren’t truth until we are truth without lies.
We aren’t believers because we are Orthodox.
We aren’t Orthodox but we are still believers.
We aren’t into miracles because someone said miracles exist.
We aren’t without miracles because someone said there are no miracles.
We aren’t a thief just after we stole something; we were a thief before we stole something.
We aren’t innocent of being a thief if we were thinking of stealing something.
I’m headed over to the other side of the pond for Cuban Coffee, Pumpkin Cupcakes, and a long meditation while viewing the Pond. Man, I need more Cuban Coffee. I also need to stop thinking about this kind of stuff.
