THE WIND AND I
Out for my walk one Spring day
The wind came up
Almost blew me away
The wind was strong
And I had little peace
Walking today seemed wrong
I spoke to the wind
You be calm and be still
And let this end
It changed not a bit
The wind asked who I was
And why it should quit
I told the wind my name
That I belonged to the Lord
The wind kept blowing the same
I’ll check on that said the Wind
Back it came with confirmation
Blowing Wild but calling me friend
Now we know each other said I
What you are and what I am
Because of the same Lord is why
The Lord knows your name
The Wind said to me
But told me to blow just the same
So I will walk with head held high
Let the breeze blow
I’ll walk without compromise
But I too will talk with the Master
To see if for sure the Wind
Can’t die down faster
And just as quickly as you please
On a once blustery day
There is now no breeze

“He (Jesus) rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.” Jesus
