THE SPEAR
You take your spear and kill something before it kills you…
Or, something kills you before you can spear it.
Or, no spears, no one cares, whoever gets speared…gets speared.
That’s the way of an existential and nihilistic life. It seems rather practical but also very boring, faithless, and living without a spear, purpose… or cause.
Paul, an apostle, wrote, “Take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication”. (Ephesians 6)
We pick up the spear to “withstand the evil day”… which is today. The fight is a spiritual fight. We need to kick some Devil Butt…
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” Jesus
