# 9 THE SPECIALIZED SILVERWARE MOVEMENT

The Specialized Silverware Movement started because of the specialized diet changes of our early ancestors. For example people started building enclosures to trap and raise Velociraptors (a small thirty-pound dinosaur) and Phorusrhacids (Terror Birds) much like we now raise cows and chickens and they soon needed bigger and better utensils to harvest and eat these critters. What surprisingly happened was the discovery that copper melted in pottery kilns could be shaped. It was soon mixed with tin and the result was Bronze. It was called the Bronze Age.

Not only did Bronze transform weapons, tools and equipment but it also changed eating utensils, pots and pans and Silverware that was then made of Bronze. Also about this time the bow and arrow, spears, knifes and swords that were being developed were being used for hunting and war with Bronze tipped points and parts.

The first piece of Silverware developed was the spoon. The knife (of various kinds) had been around a long time. The two-tinned fork followed and soon the people developed metal and pottery dishware. This progress soon produced metal art, both religious and personal, and jewelry plus many decorative and useful items for trading with other people. Silverware was now moving rapidly from country to country.

As Silverware use spread so did the development of various foods to eat with the Silverware. Silverware is responsible for Spaghetti.
