THE PLACE WHERE WE BELONG
Mary Grace Mangano, writer and educator wrote: “In an age permeated by social isolation, economic precocity, and community disintegration, the desire to find that place where we belong has only become more pronounced. In a world of ever-diminishing social capital, we need a new investment strategy. “Investment,” comes from the Latin investire, ‘to clothe in, cover, surround.” The place of belonging is not something we can simply purchase or consume. Life together is an infolding into the lives of the people around us. It is a sharing of burdens and joys, food and fears, love and grace. It is something we persevere at and create. This dream is not so much “American” as it is human, and as long as our hearts can long for such fellowship, it need not simply be a dream. The reality of it may be nearer than you think.”
‘Investment’ is to clothe, cover or surround. That perfectly describes a tent and the Holy Spirit. So, where we belong is in The Tent of Fellowship with investment in the Holy Spirit. That’s got us covered.
“The time is coming when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, and that time is here already. You see, the Father too is actively seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” Jesus
