THE LAMB OF GOD
John, an apostle, who first mentioned the Lamb of God as Jesus in John 1:29 continues with that name ‘Lamb’ 29 more times and especially in The Revelation of Jesus Christ. For example:
“There were thousands and thousands of angels, saying in a loud voice:
“The Lamb who was killed is worthy
to receive power, wealth, wisdom, and strength,
honor, glory, and praise!”
Then I heard all creatures in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea saying:
“To the One who sits on the throne
and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power
forever and ever.”
The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders bowed down and worshiped.” (5:11-14)
“Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb standing on Mount Zion.” (14:1)
Then, the 144 thousand: “They follow the Lamb every place he goes.” (14:1-5)
“I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the city’s temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God is its light, and the Lamb is the city’s lamp. By its light the people of the world will walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.” (21:22-24)
And my favorite: “The Lamb who was killed is worthy
to receive power, wealth, wisdom, and strength,
honor, glory, and praise!” (5:12) I just want to go hide somewhere… but there is no place to hide.
“They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us. Hide us from the face of the One who sits on the throne and from the anger of the Lamb!” (Revelation 6:16)
“Don’t be afraid. Just believe…” Jesus
