THE HOLY OF HOLIES III
The holy presence of Jesus “the Apostle and High Priest of our profession” (Hebrews 3:1) is the manifested indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit given to us as beleivers by our faith in the New Covenant by the blood of Jesus. The old covenant system says: “You did not desire sacrifices and offerings. You have had no pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin,” which are offered in accordance with the law, then He said, “See, I have come to do your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” (Hebrews 10:8-10).
Jesus established the New to replace the Old (Law). The Holy of Holies that once was in the Old Temple is now in the New Temple. We are the New Temple:
“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? You were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). And, “For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live in them and walk in them. I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (2 Corinthians 6:16). We are the House of the Lord, the Temple of the Lord, The Priesthood of the Lord.
The Holy of Holies takes on a whole new meaning and idea. Holiness has nothing to do with us, and everything to do with the presence of the Lord. Lord, let your glory fall on us.
“If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him.” Jesus
