THE GENEROUS FATHER

We cannot be taught to give… we must be taught about a generous Father. When we know the Father our giving is patterned after his heart and ways: to give all we can give.

There is no 10%, 12%, or 20%… this will turn into Law every time… since we have a generous Father, we ask how can I be as generous as the Father… Real giving is never knowing how much we give… it is giving that truly reflects “the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.” This simply means giving from the heart. When this happens we give from our heart and not from our head. A percentage is from the head… and that might be our initial training… but it should only train us to give from our heart. The apostle Paul wrote that the Old Testament laws and ways were “examples for us” (1 Corinthians 10) and nowhere in the New Testament are we instructed to tithe, but rather to give… to be like the Father.
