THE GENERIC JESUS
This is what happens when products and places become generic: Terms and applications become genericized terms and trademarks. For examples:
Adhesive tape: is Scotch tape
An adjustable wrench: is a Crescent wrench
An Elastic Adhesive bandage: is a Band Aid
Any soft drink: is a Coke
Any Internet search: is a Goggle search
Any gelatin dessert: is a Jell-O dessert
Any Facial Tissue: is Kleenex
Any Cowboy Hat: is a Stetson
And so forth…
That is what generic terms and products become. Jesus is also an example of this. He has been genericized and duplicated and fantasized and copied. But he is still the one and only to redeem mankind from all that is false and evil. It is still his Kingdom without comparison from others and he is the real and sufficient thing for our lives and our understanding. We may tread upon his copyright and trademark but we cannot falsify and come up with anything close.
Jesus is not generic… Jesus is God and man. He is the One and Only. Call him what you like… he is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
I do not appreciate or receive the cultural and religious Washed Out Generic Jesus. Just not interested.
“For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.” Jesus
