THE FISHERMAN AND HIS FISH

Not long ago in meditation I had a morning I will never forget. As I first became quiet and started meditation I prayed and asked the Holy Spirit, “Would you reveal yourself to me?” I instantly saw a man-like figure about 6’4” tall, very muscular, Italian looking, with dark black hair and the most pleasant countenance on His face I have ever seen on anyone. He made me just want to go up and embrace him, trust him and know him. He had on no shirt and his muscular build was obvious, but not at all threatening in any way.

He was wearing fisherman’s canvass pants and had on rubber boots and they were folded down to his knees. He was holding three stringers of fish in each hand. They were good-sized fish maybe 12-18” long and there were about 10-12 fish on each stringer. He was holding the fish up and out toward me. His face continued to be pleasant and comforting in every way.

I said, “Who are these fish for?” He said, “These fish are spiritual gifts and they are for anyone who wants them, asks for them, and receives them.”

This was an overwhelming moment and understanding. This image will never leave me. Every other time I have ‘seen’ the Holy Spirit I have seen some image of Jesus and this is the first time I have ever seen any kind of human form given to the Spirit. The wonderful Fisherman and his fish. I see him clearly almost every day.
