THE ENDLESS LIFE

Eternal life is the endless life, which comes from God. Jesus is the Giver and Sustainer of such life. Jesus said, “And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent” (John 17:3). We cannot blame Jesus for lack of clarity: ‘Eternal life is knowledge of God.’ This is true and authentic knowledge. “He who believes in me has eternal life” (John 6:47). We believe, therefore we have eternal life, and therefore we know Him. We cannot love Him with our whole heart, mind, soul, and strength if we do not know Him. One proceeds from the other. Knowledge of Him is eternal life if the knowledge lets us know Him as the Living One and not some cold and calculated religious icon or idol from the historical past from Bethlehem, Galilee and Jerusalem. We know Him now in our experience and time. We know Him in our age (anion) in Detroit, Paris, Mexico City, London and Sayre, Oklahoma. Eternal life is now. We cannot communicate with the dead. We can only communicate with the living. Jesus must be alive for communication. By this communicating we know God and He knows us. That’s really Good News.
