TAUGHT BY THE SPIRIT

“The thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God” (1 Corinthians 2:11), so to have any consequent idea or thought ‘of God’ is to know the Holy Spirit gave it. “Now we have received the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God” (v.12). The Spirit of God not only gives gifts but also then gives verification of the power and wisdom by allowing us ‘to know what has been freely given.’ These are the “things we speak not words taught by human wisdom, but those taught by the Spirit” (v.13). Words of power come from those who rely only on Holy Spirit revelation of power and wisdom. The incandescent words of life flow from this source. All other words are ‘empty chatter, a noisy gong and a clanging cymbal.’ Power and wisdom is to “combine Spiritual thoughts with Spiritual words” v.13) or interrupting the revelation given by the Holy Spirit to spiritual women and men with spiritual eyes and ears. With the combination of spiritual thoughts and spiritual words, the Holy Spirit gives gifts to us to deliver, receive, transfer, distribute and use these very thoughts and words to accomplish kingdom results on the earth. The spiritual disciplines are tools to prepare us to receive this revelation of God.
