TALKING ANIMALS
There are many talking animals on TV, media and Internet. They all seem to want to sell me something.
A gopher talked to me about insurance
A bubblehead talked to me about hamburgers
A lizard talked to me about insurance
A goat talked to me about extra health insurance coverage… along with a goose
A fox talked to me about used cars
A dog talked to me about roofing
A bear talked to me about toilet paper
A pig talked to me about beer
A horse and dog talked to me about beer
An owl talked to me about used cars loans
A cockroach taking to me about insecticides
A frog talked to me about water
A lion talked to me about real estate
A cat talked to me about cat food
An ox talked to me about car care
A skunk talked to me about cleaning clothes
A dog talked to me about dog food
A penguin talked to me about eyeglasses
A pigeon wearing a cowboy hat talked to me about TV and Internet service
An owl talked to me about eyeglasses
So much of what we respond to in advertising and purchasing is a ‘feeling.’ It appears that the marketing professionals know that a visual of an animal can get to our feelings quickly. An owl is wise, a fox is clever, a dog a faithful companion, a cat is independent, etc. We somehow connect our feelings with a lizard selling us insurance.
Could it be our love of animals is part of our Edenic responsibility being captured and highlighted for profit by these smart marketing folks?
I don’t really think a bubblehead is an animal because as I have processed this a little more, no animal would look like that.
“Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?” Jesus
