STORMING HELL

Jacob Boehme (1575-1624) philosopher and theologian wrote:

“Here, now is the right time to wrestle before the divine presence. If you stand firm, if you do not bend, you will see and perceive great wonders. You will discover how Christ will storm the hell in you and will break your beasts.”

So, did Jesus go to preach to those in hell? I have heard this argued my entire life and I think I finally have the answer. Perhaps between his death and resurrection he ‘preached to someone in hell’ I can’t tell from Scripture. But I do know this: one day ‘he stormed the hell in me and broke my beasts.’ He still preaches to the hell in me, and any of us who will listen.
