SPIRITUAL ACTIVIST
An activist is usually thought of as a person who campaigns to bring about political or social change. But that is not the only kind of activist.
There is also the spiritual activist. This is someone who campaigns to bring about spiritual change. There were prophets, poets, priests and other activists in the Old Testament. The most famous spiritual activist was Jesus. After him, came his Twelve Apostles of the Lamb, then the disciples in the churches…continuing through history. The reformers, prophets, poets, preachers, artists, campaigners, writers, performers, healers, mystics, apostles, singers, givers, school teachers, business community, truck drivers, dairymen, nurses, ranchers, intercessors, philosophers, elders, deacons, workers and faithful women and men all through the ages have been and are still being activists.
Being a spiritual activist is a choice for each of us as well.
“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” Jesus
