SPIRIT SEARCHES GOD

The way of the Spirit’s giving is by our loving Jesus. These things are ‘revealed’ (1 Corinthians 2:10) by the voice of the Spirit of the Lord. He reveals them ‘through the Spirit’ (v.10) for the ‘Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God’ (v.10). There is no concentration, technique, study, system or psychological method or clever idea to ‘search for God.’ Only the Holy Spirit can search God and then reveal to us what He found. His findings are displayed as gifts. His search in the depths of God is given to us as gifts that are deep and valuable. We cannot produce them with the eye, the ear, or the mind, they are revealed. “The thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God” (v.11), so to have any consequent idea or thought ‘of God’ is to know the Holy Spirit gave it. “Now we have received the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God” (v.12). “Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.” Jesus
