SIMPLE FAITH
Faith, Bible faith, is always in the personal. That is, Faith in the Person and work of Jesus Christ. Our ‘systems’ of believing are not nearly as important as our simplicity in believing. We simply must believe in the Personal Christ. The one who lives in our hearts, fills us with the Holy Spirit, gives joy and victory in living. The one who produces reason for service and works, gives logic to our suffering and struggle, and puts hope in our souls that He has us in His Kingdom now and in His future Kingdom at the “end of the age.” Our faith rests in Jesus.
Our simple faith must never be limited to what we believe, but in Whom we believe. Our groups won’t save us, our lodges won’t save us, our societies won’t save us, our jobs won’t save us, our families won’t save us, our mates won’t save us, our ‘clergy’ won’t save us, our giving to hungry children won’t save us, our concern and works won’t save us, our right politics won’t save us, and our churches won’t save us. Only Jesus, the Son of God, will save us. Only Jesus. Only Jesus. Only Jesus.
Rules give order and guidelines. Jesus gives truth and grace. Believe this, obedience from the inner man, the conscience, is higher, much higher than obedience to any rule. March on in simple faith.
“This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” Jesus
