SHIRT TAIL HEALINGS
This is a story of great faith about the woman who had a hemorrhage of blood for twelve years (Matthew 9:20-22; Mark 5:25-34). The text says she had “endured much at the hands of many physicians” and she had spent all she had on these doctors and she was not helped at all, but in fact had grown worse. She had tried every thing she knew to do except for one thing; she had heard about Jesus. What she had heard we don’t know, but she had heard enough to get into the crowd and “and come up behind Him” and grab Him by His outer garment, His cloak. “For she thought, ‘If I just touch His garment, I shall get well'” (Mark 5:28).
This story sounds like everyday conversation now: Someone has been to every specialist, doctor, clinic and still no cure or help. Perhaps like this woman one may need to hear and believe in Jesus and go looking for a shirttail to grab on to. “For she thought, ‘If I just touch His garment, I shall get well'” (Mark 5:28).
“Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.” Jesus
