SELF-JUSTIFYING

Given enough time I can just about justify anything, any action, and any behavior… if my will is convinced by my own reasoning and by my personal standards. And this is how a person becomes lawless. The law within is our conscience and if it makes arbitrary decisions based on self justification… there is no telling what might come from this process.

Jesus spoke to the Pharisees concerning this very issue: “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.”

Just because something has been decided and justified by me and you does not necessarily mean it is that way with the Father. It comes down to this: any justification of ideas and decisions is based on a standard. The standard is Scripture. Scripture is the Word of God.
