REMEMBERING WRONGS
Paul, an apostle, wrote: “Love does not remember wrongs done against it.” (1 Corinthians 13:5) That is a strong and difficult concept in the midst of all the other ‘love’ qualities in this chapter. It is also a very important one.
John, another apostle, wrote: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” (1 John 4:8) So, if love does not remember wrongs done against it and God is love…God does not remember wrongs done against him. After confession, repentance and restoration an individual is back in full relationship with the Father… love does not remember wrongs done against it.
We are the ones who must deal with remembering a bunch of wrong stuff. God doesn’t. We might carry this stuff around on our back like a snail. Grace and mercy carry none of it and remember none of it. I think the Lord would ask us: ‘What wrongs? I don’t see or remember any. I only see spectacular sons and daughters.”
“You must tell people to change their hearts and lives. If they do this, their sins will be forgiven.” Jesus
