POWER OVER DEATH AND DEVIL
In The Book of Hebrews we read, “Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.”
Richard Beck writes, “We talked about how Christians die before death, making us immune to the fear of death. And emancipated from the fear of death we become immune to the power of the devil.
As the church father John Chrysostom (347-407) has said, “he who does not fear death is outside the tyranny of the devil.”
The power over death is to die and be born anew of the Spirit… then we are free from the fear of death and the fear of the devil.
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again (born from above).’” Jesus
