OBTAINING GOD’S GIFTS

The gifts of God are given by the Holy Spirit and are intended to glorify Christ. There is no intention of bringing perks, fame, position, power, honor, title, wealth, long robes and flashy religious adornments to any woman or man, work or ministry! The very idea is counter to the stated purpose of the Holy Spirit’s function. So why do we have all the chatter about “anointing” and “my anointing” and “this or that anointing.” These are very dangerous subjects to be throwing around. Yes, we have anointing, but it is with a very small “a.” The Anointed One is with a very large “A.”

When T.V. radio, pulpit and platform leaders offer to share, transmit, transfer, and “sell some of their anointing (i.e., “Send $50 to the our ministry and I will pray for you to get some of my anointing.”), they are very full of baloney, if not witchcraft. They have quickly forgotten the story in Acts, where “you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money.” So, to sell trinkets, hankies, anointing oil ‘from olive trees in Israel’ and other Christian knickknacks, as well “your anointing,” is despicable to the work of God because it is man’s rival to the Holy Spirit’s gifts which are the only tools and anointing accomplishing the grace and work of God. All else is foolish and man-made, man-centered and man glorifying.
