NOT ALONE
Feeling alone is a terrible feeling. Loneliness causes a lot of unhealthy moments. Unfortunately, loneliness can be very well masked. Lonely folks can be married, have kids, lead at work, and lead at church. On the outside, all seems just right. So why are so many people so lonely?
It’s because loneliness is not defined by the circumstance of being with others or being by yourself. Loneliness means to be missing something or someone. The feeling of not fitting in, not being accepted, not being loved or not being wanted makes us lonely.
We are of the Kingdom and we have a King. We are sons and daughters and we have a Father. Regardless of what man may, or may not do, we are not alone. Know that others will desert us emotionally, leave us physically, check out on us in a difficult time, forget us or ignore us; but King Jesus will never leave us alone.
Jesus did not say he had Peter and John for comfort. He did not mention that the home of Mary, Martha and Lazarus as a place to belong. Jesus belonged because the Father never left Him alone. The other things are great if they’re available. But they don’t always last. Only Jesus’ presence lasts forever. He has not left us alone. Fear not, beloved, we are not alone.
“Indeed the hour is coming, yes and now has come, that you will be scattered each to his own, and will leave me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.” Jesus
