NEW IMMERSION
I see a need to be immersed enough in our Christian thinking and experience that we cannot distinguish a difference in our life in the world and being a Christian in that world. It is not dualistic. The ides of being a Christian without this immersion is a conflict of divine purposes. The very fact that Jesus came to earth and ‘became earth’ in nature tells of his intention…a spirit filled human living on earth. We observe both heaven and earth as the balance of the ‘Kingdom coming on earth as it is in heaven.’
This could be new way of understanding baptism: we are baptized into Christ in both his earthly and heavenly realms. Jesus became natural and we become super natural. That’s total immersion of life.
This kind of life would remind us that we live an accompanied life. The Holy Spirit is with us and in us while we are in the world. Dividing natural and super natural after one becomes a Christian is conflicting, if not defeating and producing a divided person. We are a new creation. We are one. We too are humans filled with the Holy Spirit just like Jesus. We too are spiritual being beings filled with the earth just like Jesus.
“I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born from above he cannot see the Kingdom of God. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must all be born from above.’” Jesus
