NAME CHANGE
I have been thinking that everyone should have the opportunity to change our name every seven years… if we want to. For example: If a person doesn’t like the name Herbert, they could change it to Gilbert. If a person doesn’t like the name Wilma, they could change it to Florence. Simple as that. Every seven years we could just start over with a name we like at the present time instead of the one we now have.
The Bible has several (actually ten that are mentioned) name changes. Not necessarily every seven years but name changes. Seven years would just give more opportunities. It just seems normal while reading:
Abram to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, Jacob to Israel, Simon to Peter, or Saul to Paul and so forth.
I decided to try this and change my name to Samson. I first went to the DMV and tried to get my drivers license changed. Then I had to re-register the car, change the insurance policy, the roadside service, and the service schedule at the dealer. I got home and had to change the paper work of the trailer house, the insurance, and earthquake insurance, utilities, and other policies connected with this and I could see it would only take about three years to get that all straightened out. Then I had to work on changing the credit cards, Amazon, Walmart, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and a dozen others…. and, Oh, my. I haven’t even touched any life insurance, wills, or other Big Death List paperwork. I’m whooped.
It would take seven years to get it done… if we can get it done. So, I have decided to wait for the White Stone.
“To everyone who is victorious I will give some of the manna that has been hidden away in heaven. And I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one understands except the one who receives it.” Jesus
