MISBELIEVER
In his letter to the Church of Galatia, the apostle Paul wrote a very interesting line: “But it was because of the false brethren secretly brought in, who had sneaked in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to bring us into bondage. But we did not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.”
How does false teaching and false brethren get into the local church? Often times they sneak in. This is creepy because all appears well and that everything is fine… until the petty, false and lying doctrines that are opposed to the gospel are pressured and pushed on the local flock by false brethren who have their own little ‘private doctrines’ they wish to promote. This could be translated a misbeliever which is a less common term than disbelief.
These people are sneaky and secretive and must be exposed at all costs for the sake of the flock.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Jesus
