LOVING RIGHT AND GOOD
Paul, an apostle, concludes in a letter to the church at Philippi, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” He is asking them (and us) to live and love what is right and good.
Wayne Grudem suggests “if God loves all that is right and good, and all that conforms to his moral character, then it should not be surprising that he would hate everything that is opposed to his moral character.”
To love and live what is right and good is to also hate what is wrong, evil and unlike the Father. God is for right and good and opposed to darkness and evil. We should be as well. As Paul says, “Think about these things.”
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Jesus
