LITTLE BY LITTLE
Hesiod (750BC -?) ancient Greek poet wrote:
“If you add only a little to a little and do this often, soon that little will become great.”
This wisdom on small improvements is true of money, prayer, kindness, forgiveness, saving, love, spiritual discipline, gardening, giving, Bible reading, workouts or taking naps, drinking Cuban Coffee and many other things.
“Inch by inch, row by row
Gonna make this garden grow
All it takes is a rake and a hoe
And a piece of fertile ground
Inch by inch, row by row
Someone bless these seeds I sow
Someone warm them from below
Till the rain comes tumblin’ down”
(The Garden Song, David Mallett)
“The one who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much; and the one who is unrighteous in a very little thing is also unrighteous in much.” Jesus
