LIGHT AND DARKNESS
Aldous Huxley (1894-1963), the famous British author mostly known for his book ‘Brave New World’ wrote in ‘Quest for Values,’ “Every moment of our human life is a moment of crisis; for at every moment we are called upon to make an all-important decision – to choose between the way that leads to death and spiritual darkness, and the way that leads towards light and life; between interests exclusively temporal, and the eternal order; between our personal will, and the will of God.”
Though not a Christian but a follower of Eastern Thought, the wisdom and truth are still in this statement. It is as the Gospel of John begins, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Jesus
