LEGALLY AND ILLEGALLY

The prophet Isaiah gives a vivid description of the fall of Satan from the presence of God. Isaiah lists five ways how Satan still tries to promote his evil and demonic agenda. It is also how anyone can be away from the presence of God. What is most interesting to me is the fact that every illegal desire of Satan is legal and part of our inheritance as children of the Father. Isaiah says,

“For you have said in your heart:
‘I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.” Isaiah 14

That’s the Five Issues:
1. I will ascend into heaven.
2. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.
3. I will also sit on the mount of the congregation.
(This is Mount Zion, where God meets Moses/man)
4. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds.
5. I will be like the Most High.

These are all our legal inheritance and all illegal for Satan and evil. Therefore Isaiah ends this section of scripture by saying, “Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.”

“Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Jesus
