JUST ADD WATER
I recently was reading a label on a concrete product at Lowes and it said, ‘Just Add Water.’ Later I was in Sprout’s Market and saw an oatmeal type product and it said, ‘Just Add Water.’ Then I started thinking of so many things like coffee, tea, pasta, building products, hobby products, cooking recipes, gardening projects, plants, trees and so much stuff: ‘Just Add Water.’
What came to me next were the two scriptures: John 4 and John 7. In John 4 is the story of the Samaritan Woman and Jesus at Jacob’s Well. Jesus asks the woman to get him a drink of water from the well. After conversing back and forth about water from Jacob’s Well Jesus finally says, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” ‘Just Add Water.’
In John 7 is the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles and Jesus cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water shall flow from the inmost being of anyone who believes in me.” He was speaking of the Holy Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him; but the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet returned to his glory in heaven.” ‘Just Add Water.’
So it is with us… ‘Just Add Water’ or dry up and blow away.
“I am the bread of life; he who comes to me will not hunger, and he who believes in me will never thirst.” Jesus
