JESUS OUR LEADER
We follow the Lord by a life of prayer and worship whether we are alone and quiet or in the midst of busy activity. Jesus is the perfection of holiness and as we follow him with devotion it enables us to break away from sin and live in righteousness and godly decisions. The devotion of the heart to another, even in human relations, makes for a strong desire and urgent action to remove every barrier in the way of that relationship. Prayer and worship is our form of looking to Jesus continuously as an incentive to holy conduct and living.
Meditation and contemplation in quiet and solitude draw us into his leadership and it removes us from our own leadership. Extravagant giving of our resources releases us to faith allowing us to be transformed by our Leader by dependence on him. Practically speaking, it all means turning again and again to scripture, where the picture of Christ is set forth. As the disciple looks at the manner of the life of Jesus, as looking into a mirror, in a wide variety of circumstances and seeks truly to follow his example, our whole person will steadily change into his likeness. This is the way of growing in holiness. There is no growing without following.
“If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also.” Jesus
