IT’S A PERSON

T. Austin Sparks (1888-1971), a British Evangelist, wrote, “So many people think that the spiritual life, the life of the child of God, is a matter of things. It is a thing called “the message of Cross.” It is a thing called “sanctification.” It is a thing called “deliverance.” It is a thing called “death with Christ”… some thing. They are trying to get hold of it, and there is no deliverance that way at all. It does not work. ‘It’s’ do not work! It is a matter of the Person, the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will never save an ‘it.’ He will always bring us to the Person, and make Christ the basis of our life, of our deliverance, of our everything. So the word is “Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” (Book of First Corinthians 1:30)

What a line by the apostle Paul, “Christ Jesus, who became the wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” What else is there? Only the Person could bring this to us persons.

“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.” Jesus
