PROVEN INNOCENT
The American legal system states that we are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Our theological system states that we are presumed guilty until proven innocent.
Paul, an apostle, writes to the Church at Rome, “For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
(Book of Romans 3:23-24)
Paul also wrote to Timothy, “This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all.”
(Book of 1 Timothy 2:3-6)
John, an apostle, wrote, “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.”
(Book of 1 John 2:1-2)
There is a way to be declared innocent…Jesus the Christ.
“For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” Jesus
