INNER LIGHT
“About once a month I run across a person who radiates an inner light. These people can be in any walk of life. They seem deeply good. They listen well. They make you feel funny and valued. You often catch them looking after other people and as they do so their laugh is musical and their manner is infused with gratitude. They are not thinking about what wonderful work they are doing. They are not thinking about themselves at all.” David Brooks, New York Times journalist
What radiates as inner light is The Light. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” This kind of light causes us to be immersed in what we are doing, not thinking about what we are doing, not thinking about ourselves and not even thinking about the light. The Light is the light. We are light because we have The Light.
“The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” Jesus
