IDENTITY THEFT
Deception and self-hatred have covered up many beautiful and valuable people because we have believed the lie about ourselves or we have experimented with lying, trickery, stealing, or shame and have been convinced that our self-hatred is normal. It is not normal. Rejection is a very real lie that we may tell ourselves and if we believe it long enough we will live on the wounded side of our personality. Jesus said, “But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Many of us may have chosen to live on the slapped side, rather than on the un-slapped side.
The Lord wants to lift us out, affirm us and tell us, “You are more than this.” Forgiveness is finding our self-worth. There is life after being pushed down, slapped around or falling down. The sooner we can rid ourselves of a false identity the better. This is the ultimate identity theft: to believe we are not valuable to the Father or to ourselves.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
