GROUNDED IN LOVE
Jesus is the Word. What the Word implants is love. Love for God and love for other people. If both have not happened we love with knowledge and this again brings the deception of having knowledge of something is the same as doing something. We must be encouraged to “be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit.” Power is beyond knowledge. The text continues by saying, “you are being rooted and grounded in love” and this is the only possible way to move from mere knowledge of something into the actuality of it.
Rooted and grounded means implanted. The Word has taken root and started to grow as a living truth within our soul. The Word is the manifested Christ living within us. Love is no longer simply terminology and religious phrases but it actually starts to have verifiable action. The verse ends by telling us, “to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge” and this is where love is grounded: it surpasses knowledge and then ends by giving us the final reason why: “so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:14-19)
“But the good soil represents honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s message, cling to it, and steadily produce a huge harvest.” Jesus
